Product description
Ready-to-use set for spraying thin liquids: a black glossy glass bottle with a capacity of 100 ml and a black-gold sprayer with a smoke-tinted cap. Opaque black glass protects the contents from light, which you will appreciate for hydrolats, tonics, facial and hair mists, perfume waters containing alcohol, and fabric fresheners. The glossy black surface with the gold metal ring on the sprayer gives the packaging a look that suits gift wrapping and own-brand products without any additional decoration.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity and supporting documents can be found on the product page.
What the set contains and how it works
- Glass bottle – medicine bottle shape with a straight body and a narrow neck that makes filling and fitting the cap easier. Black glass does not let light through, so the contents are not visible from the outside.
- Sprayer with smoke-tinted cap – a mechanical pump sprayer with a dip tube that releases a small, even dose of fine mist with each press. The semi-transparent smoke cap protects the nozzle from dust and accidental activation in a bag or on a shelf.
- Matching colours – the black bottle, black sprayer body and gold ring form a single cohesive unit that does not need an additional cap.
Suitable for products such as
- Facial tonics and hydrolats – low viscosity, the mist spreads evenly across the skin.
- Facial and body mists – aqueous solutions with active ingredients, glycerin or solubilised essential oils.
- Hair sprays and glosses – thin aqueous or water-alcohol preparations for smoothing and refreshing hair.
- Perfume and toilet waters – alcohol-based compositions that resist fragrance changes caused by light better in dark glass.
- Fabric and room fresheners – thin water-alcohol blends with fragrance.
The set is not suitable for thick oils, emulsions or creams. The sprayer is designed for thin, watery or alcohol-based contents. Thicker liquids will not atomise into a mist and the nozzle may clog.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended during standard filling, and the packaging is labelled accordingly. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them provides clearance for the dip tube and the sprayer body and for any expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If filled right up to the neck, some of the contents would overflow when the sprayer is screwed on.
Good to know
Before first filling, we recommend washing the bottle, rinsing it, disinfecting it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing it to dry completely. For the sprayer, it is sufficient to rinse it with clean water and pump it through several times to remove any manufacturing residue from the tube and nozzle.
Dosage. One press releases approximately 0.14 ml of content, which corresponds to a typical cosmetic mist. This can be factored into formulation when calculating the dose of active ingredients per use. The dip tube is sized to the height of this bottle, so almost all of the contents can be used.
Opaque glass has a practical consequence too: the fill level is not visible. When selling, state the volume on the label; for personal use, it helps to track the number of pumps or simply to weigh the bottle.
The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. The glass bottle has a certificate for direct food contact on its own; the sprayer does not. We therefore do not recommend this set for filling food-grade liquids.
Materials and contents. Glass does not react with alcohol, aqueous solutions or essential oils. The sprayer has plastic parts made of polypropylene and an aluminium element on the surface, which is a problem-free combination for aqueous and alcohol-based contents. For products with a high proportion of undiluted essential oils or solvents, we recommend verifying the sprayer's behaviour and seal integrity in the finished formulation.
Glass and heat. Do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes. Allow the contents to cool to room temperature before filling.
Reuse. The bottle can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. After emptying, rinse the sprayer with water and pump it through so that residues from the previous contents do not dry in the nozzle. For alcohol-based contents, it is sufficient to pump through with clean alcohol.
If you use solubilised essential oils or plant extracts in your formulation, try a few pumps over the sink after filling. This allows you to confirm that the mist is even and the nozzle does not clog before you label the packaging.
Labelling. The straight body of the bottle is suitable for a full wrap-around label. Light-coloured or gold printing stands out well on the glossy black glass.
Recycling. The glass bottle goes into glass recycling. The sprayer is a combination of plastic and aluminium; separate it from the bottle before disposal.
