Yes, the glass packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the bottle, closure and dispenser and then disinfect them with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after complete drying and evaporation of the alcohol is the packaging ready for a new filling.

First remove residues of the original product using warm water and a suitable mild cleaning agent. Then rinse the packaging thoroughly with clean water so that no cleaner residues remain. After washing, it is advisable to disinfect the bottle and related components with an alcohol solution (e.g. IPA- or ethanol-based products from the Handymade range), let the alcohol evaporate and dry the packaging completely. A medicine bottle prepared in this way is suitable for reuse with a new formulation.

The oil dispenser is ideal for products where you need precise dropping or smaller quantities – for example facial and body oils, intensive serums, hair and nail oils or aromatherapeutic blends. It is especially suitable for medium-viscosity to liquid oil formulations. For very thick oils or gel-like consistency we always recommend carrying out a dispensing test and, depending on the result, possibly choosing an alternative type of closure or applicator.

When choosing a closure or dispenser, it is important that it has the same neck as the bottle and at the same time corresponds to the consistency and method of use of your formulation. On Handymade you will find directly assigned compatible closures, droppers, sprayers or applicators for individual packaging. These combinations are tested and functional, nevertheless we recommend, before serial filling, carrying out your own test – checking the sealing, dosing process and behaviour of the packaging in long-term contact with the product.

If you decide not to reuse the medicine bottle, we recommend including it in the recycling stream in accordance with the material designation indicated in the parameters of the specific product on Handymade. The glass part of the packaging, after emptying and basic rinsing, is usually sorted into the container intended for glass, while closures and plastic components are sorted according to their material (the information is given in the parameter table for the product). By following the recommended sorting, you help efficient recycling and reduce the amount of waste.
