Product description

Stabilo cotton wick for tealight candles is a professional wick intended for the production of tealight candles in metal or glass cups. Thanks to the high-quality cotton fibre, it is suitable for pouring candles from various wax blends, where it ensures even burning and a stable flame without excessive smoking. It represents a practical pack for artisanal and small-scale production, where consistency, repeatability and easy handling when filling moulds and packaging are important.

Possible uses

  • Production of tealight candles for decorative and relaxation use in glass or metal cups
  • Production of gift candles in design jars, tins and smaller containers
  • Use for testing your own wax blends, colorants and fragrances in laboratory or trial series
  • Creation of candles for cosmetic and gift sets in combination with other packaging from the Handymade.sk range
  • Artisanal and hobby projects where a larger quantity of quality wicks in a uniform size is needed

Packaging benefits

  • Material stability – the cotton wick ensures even burning, absorbs wax well and keeps its shape when properly fixed in the cup or container.
  • Protection of the finished candle quality – consistent diameter and fibre quality help minimise smoking, sputtering and uneven burning, which increases comfort when using the candle.
  • Universal use – suitable for various types of waxes (paraffin, vegetable blends, etc.), which allows testing and production of a wide candle portfolio without the need to frequently change wick types.
  • Efficient packaging – a larger number of pieces in one pack is ideal for systematic candle production, where saving time and material is important.

Combining with closures and dispensers

The wick is intended primarily for use in combination with suitable cups, jars, tins and containers for candles. When selecting packaging for a specific wax type and candle diameter, we recommend testing several container sizes to achieve optimal burning and flame. Combinations of packaging, candle jars and accessories that are created directly on Handymade are designed to be practical and functional for home and artisanal candle production. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (wick behaviour during burning, consumption of wax down to the bottom and the overall burning process in the specific packaging).

Technical parameters

All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

How to correctly choose the length of the cotton wick for my tealight candle?

The wick length should correspond to the height of the cup or container into which you pour the candle, with a small reserve for fixing. It is advisable to first place the wick in the centre of the cup (for example using a holder or an adhesive dot), pour in the wax and, after curing, trim it to the final length of approximately 3–5 mm above the candle surface. We recommend making a test series and, according to the burning behaviour, adjusting the length and position of the wick.

Is this wick suitable for different types of wax and fragrances?

The cotton wick is designed to work with different types of wax blends, such as paraffin, vegetable or blended waxes. However, when changing the type of wax, the concentration of fragrance oils or colorants, the burning may change, so we always recommend first creating a smaller test series of tealight candles and observing the flame behaviour, wax consumption and any smoking.

Can I use finished tealight candles with this wick in any cups and small containers?

Finished candles must be used only in cups, jars and containers that are intended for hot contents and withstand thermal stress. Especially suitable are metal and heat-resistant glass cups or quality candle tins. Thin or damaged containers that could crack when heated are unsuitable. Always ensure stable placement of the candle on a non-combustible surface and do not leave it burning unattended.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

For easier selection you can use the extended filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the selected packaging category. In the clear filter you can select packaging according to neck type, size, colour and material, and thus quickly find the bottle, jar, tin or pharmaceutical bottle that will best suit your specific product or candle project.

How to safely store cotton wicks before use?

Store the wicks in a dry, clean and dust-free environment, protected from direct sunlight and sources of moisture. It is recommended to keep them in the original packaging or in a closable container so that the fibres are not contaminated by dust, fats or ambient aromas, which could affect the candle burning.
