Amber Plastic Bottle, Black Fine Mist Sprayer, Black Overcap, 115 ml

The plastic medicine bottle with fine mist sprayer is a ready-made set for toners, hydrosols and other products applied as a fine mist. The amber 115 ml bottle is made of PET, so it is lightweight and does not shatter like glass if dropped in the bathroom, in a handbag or during transport. The amber colour dims the light and helps protect light-sensitive contents, such as hydrosols, toners with plant extracts or vitamin solutions.

The set consists of a bottle and a mechanical fine mist sprayer with an 18/415 neck finish. The two parts are matched to each other, so you do not have to worry about choosing a closure. The sprayer has a black top and a black nozzle overcap, which looks understated with the amber bottle and suits small batches as well as personal use. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What the set is suitable for

• Hydrosols and floral waters – thin water-based solutions pass through the nozzle without problems, which makes them the typical filling for this sprayer.
• Facial toners and mists – the sprayer distributes the contents evenly over the face, so you do not need cotton pads.
• Hair mists – solutions for refreshing hair, products with hydrosols or a low proportion of glycerine.
• Spray deodorants and fresheners – water-alcohol solutions with essential oils at the usual usage rate.
• Yoga mat, linen and room sprays – water-based and alcohol-based scented solutions, where a smaller volume is handy for trying out a recipe.

How the set works when filling and dispensing

The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume. The sprayer is then screwed onto the neck thread and the tube and nozzle are filled with the contents by pressing several times. The tube reaches to the bottom of the bottle, so almost all of the contents can be used up. One press releases approximately 0.14 ml, which corresponds to a fine mist for the face or hair. With a full bottle, the contents last for hundreds of doses.

The nozzle of a mechanical sprayer needs a thin filling. Water-based solutions, hydrosols and water-alcohol mixtures work without restriction. Thickened toners, gels, emulsions or thick oils spray poorly or the nozzle stops working. We do not recommend pure vegetable oils in this set.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The physical volume up to the neck is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and the body of the sprayer, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. You should therefore fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise the contents will overflow through the neck when the sprayer is fitted.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing the bottle and the sprayer in warm water with washing-up liquid, rinsing them, disinfecting them with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and leaving them to dry completely. Rinse the tube and nozzle by pressing several times with clean water and then with alcohol.

Temperature of the filling. Protect the bottle from heat. Pour in hydrosols, toners and solutions only after they have cooled to room temperature.

Essential oils and solvents. Do not expose the bottle to aggressive chemicals. With a higher proportion of essential oils, neat essential oils or solvents, test the behaviour of the bottle and the nozzle with your specific formulation.

Food. Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The sprayer does not have this certificate, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

Reuse. Once empty, you can wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them and fill them again. When changing the fragrance or recipe, rinse the tube and nozzle more thoroughly, as fragrance residues cling to them.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET and the sprayer of PP. Separate them before disposal and sort each part as plastic.
