Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the medicine bottle and the spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or plant-based ethanol, which you can find in the Handymade range under the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol and Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. After disinfection, let all parts dry completely before refilling the packaging again.

We recommend first rinsing the packaging with a suitable cleaning agent that is compatible with the type of formulation used (for example a mild detergent for cosmetic water-based solutions). Then rinse all parts several times with clean water. After mechanical cleaning, apply disinfection – ideally an alcohol-based disinfectant from the Handymade offer – and let the individual components dry at room temperature. It is advisable to spray through the spray mechanism several times with clear water and then with disinfectant so that the inner capillary and the nozzle are also cleaned.

Plastic packaging in general is not intended for long-term exposure to high temperatures. It is not recommended to boil it or wash it in a dishwasher, because under the effect of heat and pressure the packaging may become deformed or the spray mechanism may be damaged. For hygienic preparation before filling, it is more suitable to combine thorough mechanical cleaning with disinfection using alcohol solutions. Store the packaging away from heat sources and at normal room temperature so that it retains its shape and functionality.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of plastic indicated in the product parameters. Before recycling, empty the packaging, rinse it if possible and separate the individual parts (bottle body and spray pump) so that they can be placed into the appropriate separated collection stream. Follow local waste-sorting rules – specific recommendations for the given material can be found in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. By correct recycling, you help to reduce the amount of waste and to use packaging material more sustainably.
