Using this, you can quickly choose suitable packaging according to parameters such as neck type, size, colour and material. We recommend first determining the product type (liquid, gel, cream, powder) and then using the filter so that it corresponds to your formulation and the desired dosing method.

The cotton wick is intended primarily for single incorporation into the candle, but for candles that have not burned down completely and still have sufficient wick left, the candle can be safely relit. With each subsequent burn we recommend trimming the wick to a suitable length in order to minimise smoking. If you combine candles with reusable containers or glasses, the packaging itself can be reused, provided that hygiene principles are observed – before refilling, always clean and disinfect it thoroughly, for example using IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based.

The eco cotton wick is suitable for most common candle waxes such as vegetable, natural or blended waxes used in the production of decorative and aromatic candles. For every recipe we recommend carrying out a test pour, checking the melt pool width and flame stability, and adjusting the length or number of wicks for larger containers. This will ensure even burning without excessive smoking or tunnelling.

When selecting a container or glass for a candle from the Handymade.sk range, take into account the heat resistance of the material, the shape and diameter of the container. Glass containers are generally suitable for most candle applications, but you should always carry out your own burn test to verify the suitability of the diameter and wick length. If you use candles as an accessory to cosmetic sets in bottles or jars, ensure that the candle burns on a stable surface, out of reach of closures, labels and other packaging elements that are not intended to be exposed to heat.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging in which you store wicks or finished candles, we recommend recycling it properly. Adapt the recycling method to the packaging material, which is specified in the parameter table for the specific product on Handymade.sk. Glass containers can, after thorough cleaning of wax residues, be placed in glass recycling, and plastic packaging can be placed in plastic collection according to local rules. Always remove wax residues and impurities so that sorting facilities can process the material effectively.

When burning candles with an eco cotton wick, always observe basic safety rules: do not leave the candle unattended, keep it out of reach of children and flammable materials, and always place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Before each lighting, trim the wick to the recommended length so that the flame is not too high and excessive smoking does not occur. When testing new containers and wax blends, carry out several burn tests to verify that the combination of wick, wax and container is safe and functional.
