Eco 1.0 cotton wick – pack of 100 pcs is a professional wick intended for candle production in various types of packaging, such as glass or tin jars, decorative containers or recycled bottles. Thanks to its composition of cotton with a special treatment, it ensures stable burning and is suitable for both artisan and small-scale production of candles from vegetable and paraffin waxes. With the correct choice of container diameter, it provides even wax burn-off, without excessive smoking and without burning through the walls of the packaging.
All technical parameters of the packaging are stated in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
When choosing a wick, it is important to take into account the container diameter, the type of wax used and the amount of added fragrances or colorants. We recommend starting with trial pours in the target jar or bottle and testing the burning with several wick lengths. A correctly chosen wick creates an even pool of melted wax without excessive smoking, does not burn too quickly and does not leave unconsumed wax edges on the walls of the container.
Before pouring candles, the container should be dry, clean and free from dust or grease residues. You can lightly degrease the inside of the jar or bottle before filling and wipe it with a lint-free cloth. We recommend fixing the wick to the centre of the bottom using a self-adhesive dot or a metal/bottom sustainer so that it remains stable and upright while the wax is being poured. After pouring, let the candle cool at room temperature without draughts, in order to minimise the formation of cracks and surface irregularities.
Yes, suitable glass or metal candle containers can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. After the candle has burned out, first safely remove the wax residues and the old wick, then mechanically clean and degrease the container. Before refilling, we recommend cleaning and disinfecting the packaging, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose you can use the products IPA 99 % and ethanol 96 % denatured, which you can find in our range: IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. Only then is the packaging ready for re-pouring the wick and wax.
If you decide not to reuse the container after the candle has burned out, we recommend recycling it according to the material stated in the parameters of the specific packaging on the product page. Glass bottles, jars and cups are usually sorted into the glass container, metal containers into metal waste and plastic components into the appropriate plastic stream. Before handing over for recycling, it is advisable to remove wax residues and metal parts of the wick so that the packaging can be correctly classified into the recycling stream in accordance with the applicable local sorting rules.
To make it easier to select suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter in the packaging categories. You can access it by clicking on a specific category, where it is located at the top of the page. Using the filter, you can narrow down the offer according to the type of neck, size, colour and material of the container or bottle. This allows you to quickly find suitable packaging for candles, cosmetics or other products and to combine it with the Eco 1.0 cotton wick as needed.
