FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

Can this plastic medicine bottle be used repeatedly?

Yes, the medicine bottle can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed, especially in small-scale cosmetic production or when decanting raw materials. Before each new filling, however, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based disinfectant, for example IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 %. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only then is the packaging ready for a new, hygienically safe filling.

How should the plastic packaging be properly cleaned before the next use?

For cleaning we recommend first mechanically removing residues of the original product, then rinsing the bottle with warm water and a mild cleaning agent and thoroughly rinsing it with clean water. After drying, it is advisable to spray or rinse the interior and the cap with alcohol (for example IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 %) and allow it to ventilate completely. Do not use abrasive sponges or very hot water for cleaning, in order to avoid damaging the plastic surface and the sealing parts of the closure.

How can this packaging be safely disposed of and recycled if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the material designation given in the product parameters. The plastic body of the medicine bottle should be emptied, possibly quickly rinsed of product residues and placed in the appropriate container according to the material designation (for example plastic). The aluminium cap can be collected separately for metal recycling, if the sorting system in your municipality allows it. By following the recycling symbols and the recommendations in the parameter table, you support responsible handling of packaging and minimise waste.
