FAQ – Frequently asked questions

How should the dropper be used correctly when dosing cosmetic products?

Always screw the dropper firmly onto a compatible vial or bottle and check the sealing before first use. When dosing, press the upper part gently and smoothly to achieve an even withdrawal of drops. It is recommended not to touch the skin or other surfaces with the glass part in order to reduce the risk of contamination of the contents. After use, close the dropper thoroughly to protect the product from air and impurities.

Is the dropper suitable for all types of oils and serums?

The dropper is intended for dosing common cosmetic oils, serums and liquid blends with low to medium viscosity. For very thick or, on the contrary, extremely thin formulations, we recommend carrying out a test filling to verify smooth suction and dosing. Always observe the behaviour of the dropper material in contact with the specific formulation and, if necessary, adjust the recipe or choose another type of dispenser.

Can I safely reuse the dropper with different products?

The dropper can be reused if strict hygiene principles are observed and it is used with compatible formulations. Before refilling, the dropper must always be cleaned, thoroughly rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable agent, for example isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant ethanol Ethanol 96 % denatured. Only after it is completely dry is the dropper ready for reuse. From a hygiene point of view we do not recommend using one dropper for several types of products at the same time.

How should I correctly dispose of or recycle the dropper and the corresponding packaging if I do not wish to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the dropper or the entire packaging, we recommend that you dispose of it responsibly in accordance with local recycling rules. Before placing it in sorted waste, remove any remaining contents and empty the packaging thoroughly. The subsequent assignment to a specific type of sorted waste (for example plastic, glass or residual waste) should be adapted to the material stated in the parameter table for the given product on the Handymade website. If you are not sure, follow the recommendations of your collection yard or local waste sorting system.
