The wooden wick represents a natural alternative to classic cotton wicks and is ideal for producing designer candles in various types of containers – from glass jars to decorative pots. Thanks to stable burning and a pleasant “quiet” effect, it is suitable for candles with natural waxes as well as their blends. High-quality wood processing ensures even burning and comfortable candle use without excessive smoking.
When choosing a wooden wick, use the candle diameter and wax type as a guide. We recommend starting by testing in the specific container in which you plan to pour the candle and checking whether the flame produces an even wax melt without excessive smoking. For wider containers, it may be appropriate to use a combination of several wicks or a different size of wooden wick. Every new combination of wax, fragrance and container must be tested individually.
The wooden wick is generally suitable for most commonly used waxes, such as soy, rapeseed, palm or paraffin blends. However, the wick’s behaviour is influenced by the specific wax composition and by added fragrances and colourants. Therefore it is important to perform a burn test in the actual packaging in which you will offer the candle, and then slightly adjust the wick size or wax composition according to the result.
The wooden wick should be anchored using a metal or special wooden base, which ensures its stable position in the centre of the container. Before pouring the wax, check the vertical position of the wick so that the flame is even during burning. For some formulations it is appropriate to saturate the wick with wax before first use, which can contribute to more stable ignition and consistent candle burning.
Yes, glass or other suitable containers can, after the candle has completely burned out and with hygiene principles observed, be reused for additional candles or other projects. Before refilling, the container must be thoroughly cleaned of wax residues and impurities and then disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol. If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend recycling it according to the material type stated in the product parameters and in accordance with local waste-sorting rules.
For easier selection, you can use the extended filter located at the top of the page after clicking on a specific packaging category. Thanks to the filter, you can clearly select packaging according to parameters such as neck type, size, colour or container material. In this way you can quickly find a suitable bottle, pot or jar for your candles and other products.
