Wooden wick crackling BOOSTER is a special packaging component intended for the production of candles in jars, tins and other containers, where it forms both a functional and design element. Thanks to the stable structure of the wood, it provides even burning and a pleasant crackling effect that enhances the atmosphere and increases the perceived value of the final product. It is suitable for various types of waxes, provided they are properly tested with the specific bottle or jar in which the candle will be poured.
The wooden wick can be used with several types of wax, but it is always essential to carry out your own testing in the container you have chosen. It is recommended to test multiple combinations of wick, wax and container diameter in order to achieve a stable flame, even burning and a safe distance from the walls of the bottle, tin or jar. Testing is also crucial when changing the formulation, colourants or fragrances.
The wick needs to be positioned as precisely as possible in the centre of the container so that the burning is even and the wax melts across the entire surface. A metal or wooden holder, or an adhesive dot, is usually used to fix the wick to the bottom of the jar or pot. Before the final candle batch, we recommend preparing a trial batch in the same bottle or tin in which you plan to sell the candles, and monitoring the flame behaviour from the first to the last burn.
Yes, glass jars, bottles or tins in which a wooden wick has been used can be reused for additional candles, provided hygiene principles are followed. Before refilling, the pack must always be thoroughly cleaned of wax residues, contaminants and the wick, and then disinfected with a suitable preparation, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. This minimises the risk of contamination and ensures better adhesion of the new wax to the wall of the container.
If you decide not to use the container further, we recommend recycling it according to the material specified in the parameters of the specific pack at the product on Handymade. Glass bottles, vials or jars, after removal of wax residues and metal parts of the wick, are usually placed in the glass container, plastic jars and lids into the appropriate plastic container, and metal components into the metal container. For each pack, follow the recycling symbols and the manufacturer’s recommendations given in the parameter table so that recycling is as effective as possible.
To select a suitable bottle, tin or jar, you can use the extended filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the specific packaging category. In the extended filter you can clearly set the required parameters, such as neck type, size, colour and packaging material. In this way you quickly narrow down the offer to packs that are most suitable for your candles, cosmetic products or other assortment.
