Product description

Wooden wick – crackling booster is specially intended for designer candles in jars, where it creates a characteristic effect of gentle crackling reminiscent of a fireplace. Thanks to its stable construction and suitably chosen wooden material, it ensures even burning, effective fragrance release and an aesthetic visual and sound experience. It represents a professional solution for candle makers who want to differentiate their final product and give it a premium character.

Possible uses

  • creating designer candles in glass jars and containers
  • natural wax candles (soy, rapeseed, coconut and their blends)
  • decorative candles with an emphasis on visual and sound effect during burning
  • premium candles with a high content of fragrance oils or essential oils
  • artisan candle collections suitable for gift packaging and small-batch sales

Packaging advantages

  • Material stability – carefully processed wood with uniform thickness ensures consistent burning and reduces the risk of uneven smouldering.
  • Protection and user comfort – the wooden wick supports a stable flame and helps wax melt evenly, thus contributing to a longer candle life and comfortable use.
  • Aesthetic and sound effect – the crackling effect gives the candle a premium character; suitable for brands that want to create a unique sensory experience.
  • Universal use – suitable for a wide range of natural waxes and containers of various shapes; ideal for home and professional candle making.

Combining with closures and dispensers

  • The wooden wick is intended for use in candles poured into jars, containers, pots or other decorative candle packaging, and it is compatible with various types of wax.
  • It is recommended to combine it with high-quality containers intended for candles and with suitable wick holders to ensure stable positioning of the wick during pouring and burning.
  • Combinations of packaging and components that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always performing your own compatibility test (behaviour of the wick with the specific wax, fragrance and dye, burning rate and flame stability).

Technical parameters

  • All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
  • Details on dimensions and other specifications can be found in the parameter table directly at the product.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right wooden wick for my type of candle?

When choosing a wooden wick, take into account the container diameter, the type of wax and the content of fragrance or colourants. It is recommended to first create test candles with a smaller number of variations and observe the burning rate, flame size and evenness of wax melting. If necessary, you can use a narrower or wider wick, or adjust the ratio of wax to fragrance to achieve an optimal result.

Is this wooden wick suitable for all types of wax?

The wooden wick is generally suitable for most natural waxes, such as soy, rapeseed, coconut or their blends. However, for each new type of wax or when changing the formulation (amount of fragrance, dye, etc.), we recommend carrying out a trial pour and testing the behaviour of the wick under the specific conditions to ensure safe and even candle performance.

Can I shorten or adjust the wooden wick before use?

You can shorten the wooden wick as needed to the required height directly before pouring the candle or after the first testing. It is recommended to leave sufficient length above the wax surface so that lighting is comfortable and the flame remains stable. During candle use, it is appropriate to adjust (trim) the wick as needed to avoid excessive smoking or an overly large flame.

Is it possible to reuse the candle container with a wooden wick?

The containers themselves into which you pour candles with a wooden wick can be reused if hygiene and safety principles are observed. Before refilling, wax and soot residues must be thoroughly removed, and the container must be cleaned and disinfected. For disinfection, we recommend using technical alcohol, for example IPA or ethanol, available in the raw materials category on Handymade, and the packaging must always be thoroughly dried before the next filling.

How should I correctly dispose of or recycle the packaging after the candle has been used up?

If you decide not to reuse the container after the candle has burned out, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the material specified in the parameters for the given packaging (for example, sorting into glass or plastic according to the type of container). Remove wax residues mechanically and free the container from visible dirt before placing it in sorted waste. Adapt the exact sorting method to the material marking on the packaging and local recycling rules.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

When choosing suitable packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter, which you can find at the top of the page after clicking on the selected packaging category. Using the filter, you can easily narrow down the offer according to neck type, size, colour and material, or according to other available parameters. This way you will quickly find bottles, medicine bottles, jars or pots that will best suit your specific product and the intended method of use.
