Wooden wick 0.4 Ultimate 19.1 mm is specially designed for making designer candles in various types of packaging – from glass containers and cosmetic jars to smaller decorative tins. Thanks to its well-thought-out shape and stable burning, it is suitable for candles made from different waxes, where it helps to melt the wax evenly and ensures a pleasant aesthetic effect during burning.
When properly combined with suitable packaging, this wick provides a uniformly burned candle surface, minimizes tunneling and supports a stable flame. Using a high-quality wooden wick is important wherever you want to achieve a professional appearance of the candle, clean burning and safe use indoors.
The wooden wick is used in combination with suitable candle containers and packaging, most often with glass or temperature-resistant stable tins and jars. When choosing a specific container, it is important to consider its diameter, shape and the type of wax so that the wick ensures even burning.
For cosmetic and food packaging that you use on Handymade.sk primarily as bottles, medicine bottles or jars, you need to take into account that after being converted into a candle they will no longer be intended for storing cosmetics or food. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are specified in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
When choosing a container, pay particular attention to the internal diameter and the material’s heat resistance. Wooden wicks need sufficient space so that the flame can melt the wax evenly over the entire surface. It is recommended to use high-quality glass jars, tins or vials intended for candles, or heat-stable decorative containers. Before starting production, always test the burning in the specific packaging and with the specific wax blend.
The wooden wick 0.4 Ultimate 19.1 mm can be used with several types of wax (for example soy, vegetable or paraffin blends), but it is always necessary to carry out your own testing. Different waxes, their blends, colorants and fragrances can change the behaviour of the flame. During testing, pay particular attention to the flame size, even melting of the wax and the level of smoking, and adjust the wick length or the type of container as needed.
The container can be reused after the candle has burned out, for example for another candle pour or for technical purposes, always in compliance with basic hygiene rules. It is advisable to mechanically remove wax and soot residues and to clean the packaging thoroughly. If you plan to refill the container (whether with a candle or with cosmetics), we recommend disinfecting it before use with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, for example with IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. When reusing the packaging for cosmetics or food, follow all applicable hygiene requirements and the packaging manufacturer’s recommendations.
If you decide not to use the container any further, it is recommended to recycle it according to the material specified in the parameters of the specific packaging on Handymade.sk. Glass packaging, after removal of wax residues, is typically placed in glass recycling containers, and plastic packaging in the appropriate plastic container according to local sorting rules. Before recycling, it is advisable to remove metal or plastic parts (for example the wick holder, closure) and sort them according to material. Always follow local recommendations for separated waste collection and the information provided for the specific product.
