When choosing a container for the wooden wick, we recommend using stable glass or ceramic jars, pots or bottles intended for candle production. It is important that the container withstands the burning temperature and has a sufficient diameter for the specific wick type. Always test the burning in the selected container and with the wax used in advance so that the flame is stable, the candle does not overheat the walls of the packaging and the wax burns out evenly.

The wooden wick can also be used in glass bottles or vials, provided they are intended for candles, have a stable bottom and withstand the temperatures during burning. For narrow containers, attention must be paid to the diameter so that the burning is sufficiently well ventilated and the walls do not overheat. Before serial production, we recommend making a test candle and verifying the behaviour of the wax, the flame and the heating of the packaging.

Containers, jars and pots in which you use the wooden wick can, if hygiene principles are observed, be reused after the candle has burned out for further candle production or for other purposes. Before each new filling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the packaging from wax residues and impurities and then disinfect it using a suitable product, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured vegetal. In this way you ensure surface cleanliness, better adhesion of the wax and minimise the risk of undesirable reactions with the new fill.

If you decide not to use the packaging with the candle any further, we recommend recycling it according to the material specified in the parameters of the particular product (for example glass jar, plastic pot, etc.). First remove any wax residues and the metal or wooden parts of the wick. Then place the container itself in the appropriate separated waste stream according to local recycling rules so that the material can be reused and the environmental burden is reduced.
