The wooden wick is designed to be used with the candle for the duration of its lifetime, not for repeated insertion into new wax refills. When producing another candle, from the point of view of safety and burning quality it is appropriate to use a new wick. However, if within a project you repeatedly use the same container (bottle, jar or pot), the packaging can be reused provided that hygienic principles are observed – before each new filling the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, for example using products such as IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured vegetable.

When selecting a wooden wick, it is important to take into account the internal diameter of the container and the type of wax you are using. A wick that is too narrow may cause insufficient melting of the wax, while a wick that is too wide may lead to an excessive flame. We recommend testing the burning in your specific bottle or jar and, based on the result, slightly adjusting the length of the wick by trimming, or selecting another size according to the offer in the e-shop.

To ensure stable burning, we recommend that before each re-lighting you check the length of the wooden wick and, if necessary, gently trim the burnt part to an appropriate height. Place the candle container on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from draughts and flammable materials. Proper care supports even burning and prolongs the lifetime of the candle as well as of the packaging itself.

The container in which the wooden wick was used can be reused, for example for a new candle, for small-volume cosmetics or for decorative purposes, provided that the material of the container is suitable and undamaged. Before new filling, the packaging must be mechanically cleaned of wax residues, thoroughly washed and subsequently disinfected, ideally using IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or 96% vegetable ethanol. Packaging prepared in this way can be reused hygienically and safely.

If you decide not to use the packaging and the wick any further, we recommend recycling them according to the type of container material stated in the parameters of the specific product on the page. After burning, the wooden wick can be disposed of in municipal waste, or according to local rules for biodegradable waste, if the collection system allows it. Glass, plastic or metal containers should be placed in separate waste collection according to local regulations, and it is ideal to remove as much wax residue as possible. In this way you reduce the amount of waste and support responsible handling of packaging material.
