Is this plastic spray pump suitable for thicker or oily preparations?

The spray pump is primarily intended for more fluid preparations that can be sprayed as a fine mist, for example aqueous solutions or low-viscosity blends. Thick emulsions, gels or heavy oils may cause impaired spraying or clogging of the nozzle. For oily or special formulations, we recommend first testing a small amount and verifying whether the application is sufficiently smooth and even.

Can I reuse the spray pump and bottle for new fills?

Yes, the packaging set with this spray pump can be reused with appropriate handling. However, it is always necessary to follow hygiene principles – before each new filling, the bottle and spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After rinsing and complete drying, the packaging is ready for use again, and we recommend using the same type of product as in the original fill.

How should I correctly shorten the spray tube so that it fits my bottle?

The tube can be adjusted to the height of the specific bottle. We recommend placing the spray pump on the empty container without tightening it, marking the point where the tube approximately touches the bottom, and then shortening it with clean, sharp scissors or a knife at a slight angle. The end of the tube should reach just above the bottom of the bottle in order to minimise the residual volume of the fill. After shortening, it is advisable to test the spraying functionality with water and only then fill with the final product.

How can I dispose of or recycle this spray pump and the corresponding bottle in an environmentally friendly way if I no longer want to use them?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend emptying it, thoroughly rinsing out any product residues, and sorting it according to the type of material stated in the product parameters. Plastic components are usually placed in the container designated for plastics; for composite materials it is advisable to separate the individual parts (for example the bottle and the spray pump). Always follow the recycling symbols and the recommendations in the parameter table of the specific packaging on Handymade so that the material recovery process is as efficient as possible.
