Before final filling, always test the behavior of the specific formulation in the packaging to verify compatibility and convenient use.

The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling we recommend mechanically cleaning the bottle (for example by rinsing it with a suitable cleaning solution or hot water, depending on the nature of the previous contents), drying it thoroughly and then disinfecting it. For disinfection you can use isopropyl alcohol or ethanol in technical purity, for example the products IPA 99 % – isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after complete evaporation of the alcohol and drying of the packaging is it appropriate to proceed with refilling.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it responsibly according to the material stated in the parameter table for the product. The glass body of the bottle is usually sorted into the container intended for glass, while the metal cap belongs in the collection of metal packaging, if the local waste-sorting system allows it. Before disposal, remove the product residues and labels to the extent permitted by the local recycling system. Adjust the exact recommendations according to the waste-sorting rules in your municipality.

When choosing a closure or dispenser, it is important that the type of neck and thread corresponds to the technical parameters of the bottle indicated for the product. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are designed to be functional; nevertheless, we recommend carrying out your own compatibility test with the specific formulation. Check in particular the sealing (whether the contents do not leak when inverted), dispensing (convenience of application) and behavior of the material during long-term contact with your product. In this way you will gain certainty that the chosen combination will work reliably even in real use.
