The Tensides, Surfactants category covers non-ionic, amphoteric and anionic ingredients that provide foaming, degreasing, emulsifying and cleansing power in shampoos, shower gels, body and facial cleansers and gentle baby products.
The range includes sugar non-ionic APGs for gentle cleansing, amphoteric " roughness relievers", modern anionic tensides with low irritation, as well as classic SLES systems and powdered tensides for syndet bar formulations. The right combination will achieve the desired lather, viscosity and tolerance for different skin and hair types.
Practice tip: plan the tenside system according to the target pH, the desired foaminess and viscosity and the selected salt profile (salt curve). Amphoteric tensides typically increase the viscosity and reduce the roughness of the system.
Decyl, Coco/Coco, Lauryl and Caprylyl/Capryl glucosides provide gentle, skin-tolerant cleansing with good foaming and compatibility over a wide pH range. They are suitable for use in gentle shampoos, shower gels and facial cleansers. Amphoteric agents alleviate irritation of anionic tensides, improve foamability and help with the density of the system. Suitable for shampoos, shower gels and children's formulations. Increase softness, more stable lather and easier densification with salt. Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco Betaine and Sodium Cocoamphoacetate are recommended.
Modern anionic tensides provide low harshness while cleaning well - suitable for "mild" shampoos, "daily wash" shower gels and sensitive formulations. SLES offers high foaming power and excellent degreasing power at a good price/performance ratio; suitable for shampoos, shower gels and liquid soaps. The presence of an amphoteric tenside significantly improves tolerance and viscosity. A proven base with the possibility of fine customised 'tuning'. SLES 26% and SLES 70% are available.
Powdered anionic tensides provide a solid format with rich foam and good cleaning; suitable for shampoo cubes, shower bars and travel products. Strong foam with no water in the package - ideal for travel and zero-waste concepts.We recommend Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI), Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSA), Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate (DLSS) and Eucarol Easy MB.
Additives for a softer feel and better compatibility with the skin; they reduce roughness, improve sensory impression and promote a stable foam. Smoother feel, less drying and more pleasant application.Try Lamesoft PO 65, Proteol Apple and TEGOSOFT LSE.

Use an anionic tenside (e.g. SLES or modern anionic) as a base, add an amphoteric (Cocamidopropyl Betaine) to reduce roughness and 1-2 non-ionic APGs to improve foam and compatibility. Adjust dosages according to target and salt curve.
Build viscosity by gradually dosing NaCl while mixing, or by adding an amphoteric tenside or thickener. Watch for the peak point - over-thickening with salt again reduces the viscosity. Each system has its own curve, test in small increments.
If the goal is lower irritation while maintaining good lather and cleaning, or for products for sensitive skin/children. Sarcosinate, Cocoyl Glutamate, Taurate or Sulfolaurate bring a better tolerability profile with the right formulation.
Combine powdered tensides (SCI/SLSA/DLSS) with fatty alcohols or waxes and emollients for a compact bar. Control temperature, disperse the powders evenly and fine tune the hardness/foam ratios between anions and emollients.
Drop the amphoteric tenside (Cocamidopropyl Betaine), replace part of the anion with APG, add a re-fatting ingredient (e.g. Lamesoft PO 65) and work with a pH of 5-5.5. Mixture should be synergistic; adjust dosage according to target group and stability.
