The dropper can be used repeatedly as long as it is mechanically intact and retains its sealing ability. When reusing, it is important to follow hygiene principles – before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the dropper and the respective bottle and disinfecting them with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example with isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol. In this way you reduce the risk of microbial contamination and of affecting the stability of your formulation.

The dropper is ideal for liquid and oil-based products that are applied in small doses – for example facial serums, oil concentrates, aromatherapeutic blends, hair serums or caring oils for nails and eyelashes. It is suitable wherever you need precise, dropwise application without unnecessary wastage and with an emphasis on user comfort.

First make sure that the dropper has the same neck type as the chosen bottle according to the information in the product parameters. Then we recommend filling a smaller test sample with the final formulation and observing for several days the sealing of the closure, the course of dosing and any changes in the material when in contact with the contents. Perform the test under conditions similar to real use (storage, frequency of opening, transport) to verify the long-term functionality of the combination.

Before reuse, it is advisable to disassemble the dropper as far as its design allows, remove mechanical residues of the product by rinsing in warm water with a mild cleaning agent and then rinse it thoroughly with clean water. After drying, we recommend disinfection with alcohol, for example using the product IPA 99 % or 96 % denatured ethanol. Only after the alcohol has completely evaporated is the dropper ready for refilling.

If you decide not to reuse the dropper, we recommend first removing any product residues and then sorting it according to the material composition specified in the product parameters for the given packaging on the Handymade website. The individual parts of the dropper (for example the plastic head, any rubber part or the glass pipette) should be sorted separately in accordance with local waste management rules. By sorting correctly you enable recycling of the used materials and reduce the amount of mixed waste.
