Product description
Facial serums, milks, liquid soaps and light emulsions need packaging from which the contents are dispensed repeatedly and in small amounts. This ready-made bottle and closure set is exactly that: a white bottle with a volume of 100 ml and a matching plastic dispenser with pump in a white and silver glossy finish. Suitable for serums, light emulsions, body and facial milks, liquid soaps, micellar waters, cleansing and massage oils, or liquid conditioners.
The bottle is made of PET and is not transparent, so it blocks light, while being lightweight and shatter-resistant when dropped. This makes it suitable for the bathroom, travel and shipping. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The bottle alone has certification for direct food contact; the dispenser does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
Why choose this set
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not touch fingers and come into less contact with air than in a jar, which is an advantage for serums and milks containing active ingredients.
- Small, repeatable dose – the dispenser delivers the same small amount with each press, approximately 0.14 ml, suitable for the face, hands or individual body areas; a larger amount is obtained with multiple presses.
- Light protection – the white opaque bottle body blocks light, which is beneficial for formulations with vitamins, plant extracts or oils prone to oxidation.
- Low weight and durability – PET does not shatter when dropped and saves on postage; also suitable for samples and travel-size packaging.
- Clean look – the white bottle with a white head and glossy silver collar creates a unified appearance and lets the label stand out.
For which formulations is the set suitable
The dispenser works reliably with contents that flow: serums, gel and gel-cream textures with low viscosity, light O/W emulsions, milks, liquid soaps and shower gels, tonics, oils and oil serums. Thick creams, butters and rich balms will not be drawn up by the pump or will be dispensed unevenly; a jar is more suitable for these.
The dispenser handles both water-based and oil-based contents, but for certain ingredients it is prudent to perform a compatibility test. PET is compatible with common cosmetic bases. At higher concentrations of essential oils, solvents, strong acids or alcohol, we recommend checking whether the packaging changes shape, colour or the scent of the contents after a few weeks. The dispenser combines plastic and aluminium, so also verify that more aggressive ingredients do not affect its mechanism.
PET is not intended for hot filling. Allow emulsions and gels to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the bottle may deform and the closure may stop sealing.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the amount for which the bottle is intended during normal filling. The total volume to the brim is larger, as it includes the space below the neck. The difference is a necessary reserve: when screwing on the dispenser, the tube along with the pump head displaces part of the volume, and the contents need space to expand with temperature changes. Therefore fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents will spill out through the neck when fitting the dispenser and the pump will not prime cleanly at first.
How to work with the set
Before first use, wash and sanitise both the bottle and the dispenser (with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol) and allow to dry completely. No water should remain in the tube, so it does not dilute the first doses or put strain on the preservative system. After filling, tighten the dispenser securely, press it several times without product until the tube is primed, and discard the first doses.
The tube length is matched to the bottle, so the contents can be almost fully dispensed. The remainder at the bottom can be pumped out by tilting the bottle slightly. The dispenser is not an airless system: with each press, air enters the bottle. This is normal, but keep it in mind when choosing preservatives and antioxidants for particularly sensitive active ingredients.
The dispenser has a transparent cover for the pump head. Keep it fitted during transport and storage — it protects the head from dust and accidental pressing in a bag or parcel.
The set can be used repeatedly. Once the contents are used up, simply disassemble the bottle and dispenser, wash, sanitise and dry; find the exact procedure in the questions below. Do not boil the tube or head.
The smooth body of the bottle is suitable for labelling; label dimensions can be found in the product parameters. When disposing, separate the dispenser from the bottle: the bottle is made of PET and belongs in sorted plastic waste, the dispenser combines plastic and aluminium and is sorted separately according to local regulations.
Closures with the same thread type as listed in the product parameters, and other ready-made combinations, are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing and packaging behaviour with your specific formulation.
