Blue Glass Bottle, Glossy Gold Black Pump With Clear Overcap, 10 ml

This blue glass bottle with a capacity of 10 ml and a pump is designed for small amounts of liquid cosmetics that you want to dispense precisely and without your fingers touching the contents. The black and gold glossy pump with a clear overcap is supplied together with the bottle as a set, so you only need to wash it, fill it and screw it on.

The medicine bottle shape with a narrow neck sits well in the hand, and the 10 ml volume suits samples, travel sizes and concentrated products of which only a few drops are used per day. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What the set is suitable for

• Face and eye serums – the pump always dispenses roughly the same amount, which is an advantage over pouring when working with concentrated active ingredients.
• Light face oils and oil serums – thin oils are drawn up by the pump’s dip tube without resistance.
• Fluids and liquid emulsions – thin lotions pass through the pump without problems.
• Samples and test batches – the small volume allows you to check the stability and dispensing of a formulation before you fill it into larger packaging.

How the pump works

The pump dispenses approximately 0.3 ml per press. Before first use, press the pump several times until the dip tube fills and the contents start to come out. The clear overcap protects the head from dust and from being pressed accidentally in a bag.

Reliable dispensing depends on the thickness of the contents. The pump handles water-based solutions, oils and thin emulsions. A thick cream or a gel with high viscosity may stay in the dip tube and the dose will be uneven. For thicker formulations, we recommend testing how the pump behaves with a small amount first.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 10 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck and is higher. The difference is a reserve for the dip tube and the body of the pump, which take up part of the internal space once screwed on. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume. If it were filled to the brim, some of the contents would spill out when the pump is fitted.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely so that no residual water gets into the contents. Rinse the pump and leave it to dry disassembled, so that no water remains in the dip tube.

The plastic parts of the pump are made of PP. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing the behaviour and tightness of the pump beforehand.

The set is intended for cosmetic products and is not declared for contact with food.

Glass can be reused if cleaned properly. After longer use, it is better to replace the pump, because the mechanism wears out and residues of the old contents are difficult to remove from it. The bottle belongs in glass recycling, while the pump combines plastic and aluminium and is sorted as mixed packaging.
