This glass bottle with spray pump is supplied as a ready-made combination of packaging and dosing mechanism. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test – in particular with regard to sealing, dosing consistency and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (pH, alcohol content, oil or water base, etc.).
All technical parameters of the packaging are specified in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging after the contents have been consumed, its environmentally friendly disposal by means of separate collection is recommended, according to the material composition stated in the product parameter table. The glass part of the bottle can be placed in the appropriate glass container, and the plastic and metal components (e.g. part of the spray pump) should be sorted according to local waste management rules.
Yes, the bottle can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, any residues of the original product must be mechanically removed, and it must then be disinfected with a suitable alcohol solution, for example using the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. After thorough drying, you can refill the container with a new formulation.
The most suitable are low-viscosity liquids that can be evenly sprayed – for example facial and body sprays, hydrolates, air fresheners, hair tonics or mild disinfectant solutions. Thick emulsions, gels or oils with very high viscosity may not pass optimally through the fine spray pump, therefore we always recommend performing a trial filling and testing the dosing functionality.
We recommend cleaning the glass part with warm water and a mild detergent, then rinsing well and allowing it to dry completely. The spray pump should be rinsed through with clean water, or with a small amount of alcohol if needed, to remove product residues from the channels. When cleaning, avoid using sharp objects that could damage the dosing mechanism or seals. Before reuse, always disinfect the internal surfaces of the packaging with alcohol and test the evenness of spraying.
Before recycling, we recommend separating the glass body of the bottle from the spray pump. Glass is usually sorted into a container designated for glass waste, while the plastic and metal components of the spray pump must be sorted according to local waste collection rules. Specific recommendations can be found in the parameter table for the given product, where the material composition of the individual parts of the packaging is specified. In case of doubt, follow the instructions of your waste collection company.
