Sacha Inchi (Sacha Inchi oil) - an oil with a strange name that makes us think for at least a few seconds how to pronounce its name correctly. We'll help you out, it's "Sacha Inchi" :). It is cold pressed from the seeds and pulp of the fruit of the Plukentia volubilis or pracaxi tree. It has a BIO certificate from the Soil Assosiation.
It is an oil high in omega-3 fatty acids (up to 48%). It also contains around 35% omega-6 fatty acids, 9% omega-9 and vitamins A and E - so up to 93% unsaturated fatty acids in total. Right behind it is evening primrose oil with 86% unsaturated fatty acids and linseed oil with 78%. Omega-3 fatty acids help the skin retain moisture, regulate sebum production and maintain its elasticity. It helps prevent the outward signs of aging and also has anti-inflammatory effects on the skin.
It is excellent for oily skin, it does not clog pores or leave a greasy feeling. Its other plus point is that its production is sustainable and economical. The tree produces fruit for up to 75 years, which is quite a long cycle. It is a year-round crop and the cost of growing it is low.
