Ambre Glass Bottle, Glossy Silver White Pump, 15 ml

The amber glass medicine bottle with a white and silver pump is a small pack for serums and oils that are applied in drops. The 15 ml volume is enough for a concentrated product, a sample or a travel pack. Dark glass limits the amount of light getting in and slows down changes in the colour and scent of sensitive contents, such as facial oils or serums with vitamins and plant extracts. The pump dispenses the same amount every time, and the contents do not come into contact with your fingers during use.

The set is supplied as a ready-made pair of bottle and closure. Both components are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is not approved for contact with food.

What the set is suitable for

• Facial and oil serums – concentrated products where one application is a few drops.
• Eye and facial oils – amber glass slows the yellowing and oxidation of light-sensitive oils.
• Light emulsions and fluids – liquid to medium-thick textures that the pump can dispense.
• Hair and nail serums – a precise dose for the ends of the hair or the cuticle, without spilling.
• Samples and travel packs – the volume is enough to try a new recipe or for a few days away from home.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the tube and the body of the pump, which take up part of the internal space once screwed in. The bottle should therefore be filled up to the nominal volume. If it is filled up to the neck, part of the contents is pushed out through the thread when the pump is fitted.

Using the pump

One press of the pump dispenses approximately 0.14 ml, which corresponds to a few drops. After the first filling, it needs a few priming strokes until the tube and chamber fill and it starts dispensing evenly.

The pump is intended for liquid and medium-thick products. It dispenses thick creams, butters or solid gels with difficulty or not at all. With formulations containing particles, for example a scrub or undissolved pigments, the valve may become blocked.

Good to know

• Preparation before the first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Rinse the pump by pumping clean water through it and leave it to drain with the head facing down.
• Test before filling a batch – every formulation behaves differently in the packaging. Fill one bottle, leave it to stand for a few days and check the tightness of the thread and the smoothness of dispensing.
• Transport – transport the set in an upright position and in a closed bag, so that the pump does not get pressed down in your luggage.
• Reuse – the glass bottle can be refilled after washing and disinfecting. When switching to a different formulation, replace the pump, as residues of the original contents are difficult to rinse out of the tube and chamber.
• Recycling – the bottle belongs in glass recycling. The pump contains plastic and metal parts, so separate it from the bottle and dispose of it according to the rules for mixed packaging waste.
