Iron oxide is only used in very small amounts to highlight individual skin tones. You will need a larger amount of red to make up or eyeshadow for darker skin than for lighter skin.
It is an excellent base for powders, bronzers or lipsticks. Iron oxides are very strong pigments and should be used with caution. They are dull when used alone.
