White Glass Bottle, Roll-on, 100 ml

Glass bottle, white, roll-on, 100 ml is a ready-made set for applying liquid products with a roller ball directly onto the skin. It consists of a white glass medicine bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml, a steel roller ball in an insert and a black plastic cap with an 18/410 neck finish. The product is dispensed by rolling the ball over the skin, without pouring and without your fingers touching the contents. The set is therefore suitable for body and massage oils, essential oil blends, liquid deodorants or cooling products for tired feet. The opaque white glass shields the contents from light, which is useful for oils and blends that do not benefit from light.

A steel ball feels cooler to the touch than a plastic one, so it has a mild cooling effect on the skin during application, and the product can be spread or massaged in directly with it. The polypropylene cap screws on over the roller ball insert and protects it from contamination between uses.

What the set is suitable for

• Body and massage oils – the roller ball spreads the oil over a larger area without spilling, and the 100 ml volume is enough for longer use.
• Essential oil blends in a carrier oil – application to the wrists, temples, neck or back without your hands touching the product.
• Liquid roll-on deodorants – water-based or alcohol-based products with low viscosity, applied in a thin layer.
• Cooling tonics and thin gels – for example products for the feet, where the coolness of the steel ball is appreciated.

Filling and dispensing

The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume, that is 100 ml. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the glass up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference is a reserve for the roller ball insert, which extends into the neck once fitted. After filling, the insert is placed on the neck and pressed in until it seats, and then the cap is screwed on.

The roller ball works with liquid and thin-flowing products: vegetable oils, oil serums, tonics, alcohol solutions and light gels. The ball cannot roll thick creams or balms and will get stuck during application. With very thin water-based and alcohol-based liquids, check the tightness of the insert with the bottle lying on its side after filling, as the behaviour of the roller ball depends on the viscosity of the particular formulation.

The roller ball touches the skin with every use and returns to the bottle together with tiny impurities. Water-based and water-alcohol products therefore require suitable preservation, while for purely oil-based blends an antioxidant helps prevent the oil from turning yellow.

Good to know

Before the first filling and before every subsequent use, all three parts are washed, rinsed, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry completely. Moisture remaining under the roller ball insert would get into the product. Remove the insert from the neck carefully so that its rim is not damaged.

The roller ball insert and the cap are made of polypropylene, while the contents are stored mainly in glass. For blends with a higher proportion of essential oils or with solvents, check how the plastic insert behaves during longer contact with the particular formulation.
