Plastic bottle, vial, transparent, nasal spray, 10 ml

A ready-made set of a transparent PET vial with a nominal volume of 10 ml and a white nasal spray dispenser. With each press, the dispenser releases a small, predefined amount of the contents as a fine mist. The set is therefore suited to thin, water-dilutable cosmetic products that are applied in small doses, and to samples or travel sizes of larger products.

As a whole, the set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the bottle carries a separate certificate for direct food contact; the dispenser does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. Declarations of conformity for both components are provided with the product.

What makes the set useful

• Small, repeatable dose – with each press the dispenser releases the same small amount of contents (the dose value is in the specifications), so the product is applied sparingly and without dripping.
• Fine mist – the contents disperse into tiny droplets that spread evenly over the skin or hair and dry quickly.
• Light and unbreakable container – the PET bottle weighs only a few grams and will not break in a handbag or during transport.
• Transparent wall – you can see how much is left and whether the product is clear, without cloudiness or sediment.
• A ready pair – the bottle and dispenser share the same neck type, so there is no need to look for a matching closure.

Filling and use

The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the volume the container is intended for under normal filling. The total volume up to the neck is larger, and the difference between them is a reserve for the dispenser's dip tube and for slight expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If overfilled, some of the contents will be forced out through the neck once the dispenser is screwed on.

After screwing on, the dispenser must first be primed: press it empty several times until the tube and chamber fill and the first dose comes out at full volume. After a longer period without use, repeat the procedure. The dispenser works best when the bottle is upright or slightly tilted. When turned upside down, the tube cannot reach the contents and the dispenser draws in air.

Suitable for products such as

• Hydrosols and facial mists – thin water-based products pass through the nozzle without trouble, and the fine mist spreads evenly over the skin.
• Toners and refreshing sprays – a small dose is enough for one application, and the small size is handy for travel.
• Hair mists and light hair sprays – water-based or slightly alcoholic products with low viscosity.
• Samples and travel sizes – a transparent, unbreakable bottle with precise dosing is practical for trying a product before buying a larger size.

The set is not suitable for oils, oil serums, emulsions and thick products. The narrow nozzle and small chamber of the dispenser are built for liquids close to water. Thicker contents will not be atomised by the dispenser, or it will clog.

Good to know

A transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light. Products sensitive to light (with vitamin C, selected plant extracts or essential oils) are better kept in the dark or in a box, or a dark container should be chosen. For hydrosols and toners used up within a few weeks, this is usually not an obstacle.

Material and contents. PET handles water-based products and common cosmetic ingredients well. For products with a higher proportion of ethanol, with undiluted essential oils or with solvents, we recommend verifying the behaviour of both the bottle and the dispenser on a test batch, because the plastic may soften, become cloudy or take on an odour. In addition to plastics, the dispenser contains glass and steel parts that come into contact with the contents. For products with a low pH, it is worth watching on a test batch whether the contents change.

Heat. PET is not intended for hot filling. The product is filled once it has cooled to room temperature. The bottle must not be sterilised by boiling or in an oven.

Reuse. Once empty, the bottle can be washed, disinfected and refilled. The dispenser is rinsed with clean water by pumping through several doses and left to dry. If the tube or nozzle is clogged with dried contents, it is more reliable to replace the dispenser.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET and belongs in sorted plastic. The dispenser is made of several materials, so it is separated from the bottle before disposal.
